More Atlantic DX.

Had a qso with KA9WAR last night at 20.55 UTC on 20m USB, I was a 5/7 with him a good 5/9.

This is now my longest DX at 3720 miles.

I have also had a shot at working a VK on 40m via some 'G' stations this morning, unfortunately I was not heard, I could only just hear the VK about a 4/3 in the noise.

  1. Hi Paul, you start off very good. But please tell me more: with what mode and how much power? Just keep on the good work. 73 Paul

  2. Hi Paul,

Both trans-atlantic contacts were on 20m USB with the license level of 10 watts.

I must say though that on both occasions there was no pile-up, I was literally the only station calling.

Anyway I hear that you have made the trip to Nigeria..?

  3. Hi Paul, well done, sometimes we need some luck. I search a particular part of the band and dial up and down, and wait for the moment someone calls CQ. I seldom call CQ myself. And indeed I was heard in Nigeria with 10 watts USB. (inclusive a pile up) The difference between 10 watts and 100 watts is only 2 S points. (12db) 73 Paul
